Here's to our community health
Over the last year a group of more than 40 organizations and individuals partnered to conduct the first collaborative, area-wide health needs assessment. Well over 1,000 people participated at some level, and the group is happy to announce that the results are now available. Join us this Friday, Feb. 5, at noon at the college for a brown bag presentation of the assessment findings. If you cannot join us Friday, visit the Web site www.skpcommunitiesproject.net for a firsthand look at the results.
This information was not gathered and compiled to collect dust on a shelf. Rather, the work is the foundation for a Community Health Improvement Plan. Mark your calendars for Feb. 25 and 26 when the project will sponsor a two-day event to develop community action steps based on the findings from the assessment. Regardless of your involvement to date, here is your invitation to be part of that critical next step.
