Michael Mickey Robert Balashoff III

Longtime Seldovia resident Mr. Michael Mickey Robert Balashoff III, 73, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, in Seldovia

A potluck and celebration of his life is 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at The Linwood Bar in Seldovia.

Mr. Balashoff was born April 22, 1938, in Seldovia. He attended school until the 8th grade and later joined the U.S. Army. Mickey lived in Seldovia nearly all his life. He enjoyed riding his bike, playing games, cards, dice, doing pull tabs, taking rides in the car, going to the beach and loved watching his TV programs.

The family wrote, Mickey was a very loving and caring man. He was always so giving to everyone. He loved animals and children. He was always a happy-go-lucky person. He loved to spend time with his family. We will miss him lots.

He is survived by his sisters, Doris Mueller of Anchorage, Dale Rude of Anchorage, Deena Harris of Anchorage, Sandra Cloud of Anchorage and Kimberly Parch of Anchorage; cousins, Gladys Yuth, Helen Quijance, Ann Anderson; and grandchildren and great grandchildren
