The Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies is running a snowshoe rental program. This program is free to members, or rent five and get the sixth rental free for all others. For information, call 235-6667.

Ukulele musicians of all abilities are invited to join other ukulele musicians for an hour of sharing music at Friendship Terrace, 250 Herndon Drive, at 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays.

The Ninilchik community is preparing a spaghetti-feed to help raise funds for the Clucas family, who recently lost all of their belongings in a house fire. They are hosting this fundraiser on Feb. 18 at the Ninilchik Senior Center. The meal will begin at 5 p.m. Join them if you can, and if not, you can send a donation to Wells Fargo Bank account No. 7861883176. The Clucas family have been neighbors in Ninilchik for many years. Jessies grandfather homesteaded in the area. They would appreciate any donation you can make.

The Kachemak Ski for Women event takes place Feb. 5. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the event starts at 1 p.m. This short, fun womens cross-country ski race to benefit Haven House will be held at the Lookout Mountain trails on Ohlson Mountain road. A $15 donation is requested and there will be prizes for costumes. Contact Kris at 399-4413 for more information.

Deadlines to apply for the disabled veteran and senior citizen exemptions for Kenai Peninsula Borough homeowners are Feb. 15.
