Jan. 16 A person at 7:55 a.m. made a 911 call of a moose-car collision near Mile 171.5 Sterling Highway. A caller at 11:21 a.m. reported a man sitting on the side of the road and rocking back and forth on Ben Walters Lane. Police responded and gave the man a ride home. A man at 3:48 p.m. reported a moose on the field at Homer High School. Police responded. An officer at 8:03 p.m. reported he hit a dog in his patrol car near Mile 170 Sterling Highway. The dog ran off and the officer couldn't find it. Jan. 17 A caller at 12:45 p.m. asked police to do welfare checks on a woman at her Landings Street home. A caller at 1:39 p.m. reported the front door of a Seabreeze Court home was open. Police responded and secured the door. No signs of a forced entry were seen. A caller at 6:37 p.m. reported an angry man confronted him at a Lake Street address. A woman at 7:29 p.m. reported a man got out of his car and threatened her on Main Street after she stopped to put her car in four-wheel drive. A person at 8:28 p.m. made a 911 call reporting a woman made suicidal threats. Jan. 18 Police at 4:20 a.m. helped Public Works with an unknown source of water in the street at Pioneer Avenue and Shelford Street. Jan. 20 A man at 1:04 p.m. came to the police station with a letter asking for help on a civil issue. The man then disappeared. Police contacted him at his home. A woman at 8:10 a.m. reported her daughter's iPod touch was stolen while she was at Homer Middle School. Jan. 21 Police at 2:57 a.m. contacted a 39-year-old man driving on East End Road and arrested him for driving under the influence. A woman at 11:05 a.m. reported her husband was suicidal. Police went to a Rangeview Avenue and arrested a 47-year-old man on three counts of fourth-degree assault, including one count of assaulting a police officer. A woman at 1:29 p.m. reported someone left hay out for moose in the Sabrina Road area. A woman at 2:07 p.m. reported her daughter violated a conduct agreement. A woman at 2:54 p.m. reported an altercation with another woman. A caller at 4:46 p.m. reported a drunk man disturbed neighbors inthe Ternview Place area. Police gave the man a disorderly conduct warning. A caller at 7:41 p.m. reported seeing an orange flare over Kachemak Bay toward Seldovia. Jan. 22 A man at 10:52 a.m. reported someone slashed tires on his car parked at a Main Street address. A caller at 6:10 p.m. reported a hit-and-run accident on Pioneer Avenue. Two men at 4:45 p.m. reported someone entered their Soundview Avenue home and stole electronics. A woman at 5:21 p.m. made a 911 call of a broken water main with water running across the roadnear Mile 172 Sterling Highway. A man at 10:37 p.m. reported a driver hit his car and pushed it into an Ocean Drive building. Police issued a summons to a 19-year-old woman for leaving the scene of an accident and not having insurance. A woman at 10:37 p.m. reported hearing gunshots near Mile 1.5 East End Road. The woman called back later and said neighbors shot off fireworks. Jan. 23 A harbor officer at 8:09 a.m. passed on a report that another person saw a possible flare over the bay. No other signs of distress were noted in the area. A woman at 9:57 a.m. reported an unleashed black Labrador retriever dog tried to bite someone at a Kachemak Drive address. Police advised the animal control officer. A woman at 11:12 a.m. reported her ex-husband took her car for a Lee Drive address. Police advised the woman of her options. A man at 12:45 p.m. reported his daughter received a suicidal text message from an unknown person in Palmdale, Calif. Jan. 24 Police at 5:07 a.m. went to a Svedlund Street home for a person with erratic and volatile behavior.
