Land's End employee wins Stars of the Industry award

Six Land's End Resort employees were nominated for the Alaska Hotel and Lodging Association's Stars of the Industry awards.

There were more than 166 statewide nominations for more than three dozen award categories. The Land's End nominees were:

• Lea Miller, hotel manager of the year for sales and marketing;

• Garet Moyer, rising star of the year;

• Jeanne Parker, hotel manager of the year for food and beverage;

• Robert Seiber, hotel employee of the year for housekeeping;

• Mark Todd, hotel employee of the year for maintenance and security;

• Ryon Turley, hotel employee of the year for the front office.

Turley won the award in his category.

The association's 14th annual Stars of the Industry award gala was at the Sheraton in Anchorage on Jan. 14.

"We have some very high performers. This was an exciting opportunity to recognize some stars that really went above and beyond this last year," said Land's End CEO Mike Dye.

Nominations for the Land's End employees came from managers within the company that recognized the employees' high level of service to the resort's internal and external customers.

"We have a belief that if we serve each other as internal customers very well and work together, then by extension we will treat those that come here with excellent customers service," said Dye.
