Homer Bookstore holds World Book Night

The Homer Bookstore participates in the second annual World Book Night on April 23, with the sign-up deadline extended to Jan. 25. Plans are already in motion on several fronts to match and exceed the successes of the campaign's first year, when 25,000 volunteer book givers went out in 5,800 towns and cities across America and personally gave a total of a half-million paperbacks to members of their communities, many without means or access to printed books.

Publishers donate books from a list selected by independent booksellers nationwide. Books will be shipped to the Homer Bookstore for distribution. The goal is to distribute free books to light or non-readers. Givers are encouraged to pick a book from the list that was meaningful to them. The list includes a wide range of genres, including science fiction, mysteries and young adult titles. For further information or to sign up please visit www.WorldBookNight.org.
