Catherine E. Williams

Dec. 13, 1950-Jan. 5, 2011

Anchor Point resident, Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Williams, 60, died unexpectedly Jan. 5, 2011, in a car accident on the Sterling Highway near Cooper Landing.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at the Glacierview Baptist Church, 960 East End Road in Homer. Nephew Kevin Dennis will be officiating.

Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 13, 1950, in Fairfield, Iowa. David O. and Irene (Smith) Johnson adopted her at age 6 in Austin, Texas. She married Mark Williams in 1969, and moved to Alaska in 1970. She was a homemaker, certified nursing assistant and a construction safety flagger. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Anchor Point. Catherine loved sewing, painting, gardening, piano, cooking, Christmas and historical Christian novels.

The family wrote, "Cathy's essence was her confidence in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was Sunshine to everyone who knew her."

She was preceded in death by her son, David Williams, age 2, and her father, David Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Williams Sr. of Anchor Point; daughter, Amy Graham and her three children, all of Nampa, Idaho; son, Mark Williams Jr. and his three children, all of Boise, Idaho; mother, Irene Johnson of Houston, Texas; sisters Diane Jones and Gwen Banning, both of Houston, Texas; brothers, Eric Johnson of Austin, Texas, and Bill Johnson of Noblesville, Ind.; and biological father Norman Lowell of Anchor Point.
