With winter solstice come and gone, what more to be excited about than more daylight, more snow, and yes, more hockey.

The Divas are gearing up for their annual Winter Jamboree while the co-ed league enters its spring season.

Co-ed team Green Eggs and Slam leads with six goals, with Trace Carlos scoring a hat trick for the team. Female high scorers for the women were team White Thrash's Andrea Stineff, and team T&J's Karen Weston and Susan Williamson.

About 35 women from Anchorage, Wasilla and Kenai will flock to the Homer Spit this weekend for the three-day Winter Jamboree round robin tournament.

The goal is for the women to arrive as separate teams, but leave as one, according to event coordinator Ingrid Harrald.

"We mix all the teams up so we all play with people from other teams. It's fun," said Harrald.

The Peewee D team and Squirt C team will be selling baked goods at the games as a fundraiser for their upcoming hockey trip to Barrow.
