Childhood education community cafe scheduled

Best Beginnings Homer and Paul Banks Elementary School staff and PTA are sponsoring an early childhood education community cafe on Feb. 16. Lunch and free child care will be provided. Educational and informational presentations for parents, caregivers and people working with children ages infant to 8-year-old, include

* Language and literacy development;

* Planning outdoor activities for children;

* Planning music and movement activities for kids;

* Child screenings;

* Traits of resilient kids;

* How to access and use the school district websites and parent sites; and

* Information on the Imagination Library.

Facilitators include representatives from Sprout and Thread, Robin McAllistar, Teri Mach of Head Start, Kachemak Kids and Paul Banks staff. Kids activities will be facilitated by the Paul Banks PTA and Homer Public Library staff.For more information about Best Beginnings Homer and its other projects, visit http://pop411.org.
