Kachemak Bay Campus




Registration for all winter/spring semester classes is now going on. Sign-up early to ensure a seat, either via online or in-person at KBC; pay in January. Many classes begin the week of Jan. 17. Available classes include welding, private pilot ground school, 6-pack boat license prep, telemark skiing, winter camping, world literature, history of Alaska, woodworking, business law, ETT, color design, marine fish of Kachemak Bay, bears, garden design, accounting, entrepreneurship and more.

Ceramic artist Paul Dungan will return this upcoming semester to UAA's Kachemak Bay Campus and offer a 15 week ceramics class starting Jan. 17. Award-winning artists Sandy Gillespie will teach a new class in color design for those at all levels and long-time instructor/artist Asia Freeman will return to teach intermediate drawing. Also, photographer Taz Tally will again teach a 7 week class in digital camera techniques. Musician JulieAnn Smith will teach fundamentals of music for those wanting to learn to read music or refresh their abilities. Poet Erin Howellel will teach a new poetry course on Thursday evenings while author Nancy Lord will teach a multi-genre creative writing class. On-line and walk-in registration is now being held at www.homer.alaska.edu. Advanced registration is required. Register early.

Course schedules describing these and more than 125 distance-delivered and face-to-face classes and workshops are available at many area locations, at the campus or on-line. An EZ Flexible Payment Plan and credit card payments are offered. For more information call 235-7743

Cross-Cultural Perspectives on Women has been changed to Wednesdays, 4-6:40 p.m., and starts Jan. 18.
