Man found dead in motorhome on the Spit
Homer Police on April 26 found a Homer man dead in his motorhome parked on the Homer Spit near the Homer Shores Boardwalk near Freight Dock Road. Homer Police Chief Mark Robl said police do not suspect foul play in the death of Dwayne Headley, 44. Next of kin has been notified.
Robl said police found Headley after his probation officer asked police about 11 a.m. to do a welfare check on him. The probation officer told police Headley hadn’t been heard from in awhile. According to online court records, Headley was convicted in May 2014 of felony refusal to submit to a chemical test. A police officer found Headley dead about 1 p.m. Robl said Headley is believed to have been dead less than 48 hours.
Robl said Headley was not camping legally.
