Recall effort no surprise

To say the very least, I was not at all shocked to hear there was a recall on three Homer City council members. After all, they tried to deceive the people of Homer with their, “We must all love one another” law.

Only a fool could not see it was only an attempt to turn Homer into a sanctuary city and invite as many illegal residents into our town, and spend all that money, that we don’t have, to give away to illegals.

Correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t the primary function of city council members to promote and do everything in their power to increase the city’s income, and ensure the money they do have is used to the best of their ability?

Council members, take a look around as you drive through town, and take special notice of all the empty buildings. Those empty buildings are under your job descriptions to fill with viable businesses. Your job is NOT to make political statements and force the residents to accept your opinion of what is best for them.

This goes both ways. Conservative or liberal minded, the job of the city council is to use the city coffers in the best interest of the city, not anyone’s individual agenda.

The three members tried to tell us that Clinton was the overwhelming victor in the last election within the cities voter population. This of course was a lie. Strike one.

They tried to pass a law that required everyone to accept everyone else, regardless of their skin color, religion, sexual preference, or nationality. As a conservative, and I know I can speak for a majority of conservatives, I don’t care what color your skin is. I don’t care what your religion is. I don’t care what your sexual preference is. I don’t even care what your nationality is. A law is not required to make people accept each other. Strike two.

Then, in the face of massive opposition, you still try to force your political views down the throats of the Homer residents. Strike three.

Most people, as was in evidence of the last election, are tired of being told what to think, how to feel, and what they are REQUIRED to buy. This is supposed to be a free country that has laws for everybody, and “special” rules for only certain people make people rebel. I am not now, never have been, and never will be, a politically correct person. I do not want special rights or provisions for any “class” of American citizens, especially when it’s based on their perception of being different.

If you are not white, you are gay, you worship a God other than a Christian God, I don’t care. Just don’t make a law that requires me to accept your views. There are no laws requiring you to accept my views; in fact, in the liberal mind, if I don’t 100 percent agree with you, you will label me as a racist or homophobe or an anti religious zealot.

I’ve been called names by liberals, accused of riding the short bus and all that kind of childish stuff. I’ve had liberals threaten me with physical harm because I don’t agree with them. I just laugh at them.

The very thing liberals claim to hold in high esteem, tolerance, acceptance, love one another because of their differences, is the very thing they attack others because they don’t agree with the liberal philosophy.

To close, I do not have to like you just because of your skin color, sexual preference or religious preference. I don’t judge people by those aspects of their lives. I judge a person by their actions, not because they are different.
