Joey Evensen eloped with Krystal Sims in December in Houston, Texas. Joey’s longtime friend, Rev. Raymond Price, led the southern ceremony dressed in an all-purple suit.
Frederick Dylan Krueger and Marissa Leigh Paul were married on Oct. 15, 2016, in Vandalia, Ill., with brother of the bride, Skylar Paul, officiating the ceremony. Marissa is the daughter of Rebecca Paul and Dr. Paul Raymond of Homer. Dylan is the son of Freddie and Greta Krueger of Vandalia, Ill.
Amelia Robinson of Homer, Alaska, was married to Drew Elkins of Boulder, Colo., on Sept. 17, 2016, in Morrison, Colo. Amelia grew up in Homer and attended college at the University of Montana Missoula, majoring in psychology with minors in human development and gerontology. Amelia moved to Denver where she met Drew in 2011 and attended the University of Denver, gaining her master’s in social work. She is currently a trauma therapist at The Empowerment Program.
Audrey and Jim Rearden
Audrey and Jim Rearden celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 25, 2016. They were married in Kenai in 1966 and together shared in raising eight children. They now have 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The family hosts a luau for family and friends at the Rearden home from 3-5 p.m. Jan. 30. Please stop by if you can; no gifts, please. Mary Griffith and Reuben Sherwood were married Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at Homer United Methodist Church. The honor attendant was the bride’s daughter, Joanne Piccinini, who came from California with her daughter, Jordan, who served as flower girl. Best Man/Escort was Mr. Ken Landfield. His wife, Sue Wolgemuth, stood in for the bride’s parents. Rev. Lisa Talbott officiated in the double-ring ceremony. Church Music was provided by Shawnie Olson. Sue Biggs and Jack Will offered their wonderful music for the reception.
Paul and Lara Fleenor and Jeff and Rose Sinn of Homer announce the engagement of their daughter, Halle Elizabeth Sinn, to D.J. Marsengill. The couple will marry May 9, 2015, in Homer. Halle is a 2013 graduate of Homer High School and is currently employed at Land’s End Restaurant.
D.J. is the son of William (Dale) and Tammy Marsengill of Homer. D.J. is a 2012 graduate of Homer High School and is currently employed at Alyeska Tire. He is a proud member of the Alaska Air National Guard and will be deploying to serve his country this summer.

Wally and Teri Bailey of Anchor Point announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Jean Bailey, to Levi Aaron Lystrom of Fargo, N.D. The couple will marry Aug. 1, 2015, in Fargo.
Emily is a 2009 graduate of Nikolaevsk School and is in her senior year at Southwestern Assembly of God University, Waxahachie, Texas, and will receive her bachelor’s degree in psychology in May.
Sonny and Nancy Smith celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 8, 2015. They were married Jan. 8, 1965, in Las Cruces, N.M., while on their way to Texas. They met when Nancy worked as a waitress and Sonny was a truck driver. They ran the Glacier Drive-In on the Homer Spit together for more than 30 years. Their children are daughter, Tacy, and son, Mark Smith; grandchildren, Karen and Corey Shelby and Shane Spangler; and great-grandchildren, Sydney, Cutter, Sawyer and Sullivan Shelby.

Andrew, the son of Leo and Nancy Vait of Homer, graduated from Homer High School in 2003 and the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Fla., in 2007.
