Martin C. Altman

Homer resident Mr. Martin Clarence Altman, 44, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at The Ark of Homer in Homer.

Memorial services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2821 East End Road in Homer. There will be a potluck to follow at the church.

Mr. Altman was born June 16, 1969, in Grangeville, Idaho. He moved to Homer in April of 1983 where he attended and graduated from Homer High School. Martin worked in the fishing industry for a long time as well as a cook. He was a member of the LDS Church in Homer. Martin loved all outdoor activities and loved playing video games.

The family wrote, “Marty was loved by so many and will forever be missed. He had a huge heart and was always there to help a friend out. He loved animals and was always taking in strays. His family always wondered which animal or person he would walk through the door with next. Even though Marty is gone he will live on in our hearts and memories forever. He will continue to live through us as we remember his smiling face and the wonderful memories. We will find peace and comfort knowing he is with his Heavenly Father now.”

He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Altman; father, Robert Altman; and grandparents, Louis and Pat Altman and Kay and Maynard Downing.

He is survived by his sons, Travis Altman and fiancée, Jamie Brown; Jesse Altman and wife, Allyssa; Kenneth Altman, Colby Altman, Gerald Altman and daughter, Debra Altman, all of Homer; mother of his children, Kim Altman of Homer; son, Lincoln Nelson of Milan, Mich.; mother and father, Vicky and Patrick Johnson of Homer; brothers, Robert Altman and his wife, Lona of Kamiah, Idaho; Mike Altman of Lewiston, Idaho; Ricky Altman and wife, Karla, of Kamiah, Idaho; Walter Cody of Portland, Ore., and David Johnson and wife, Autumn,  of Cordova; sisters, Patty Seay and husband, Gary, of Homer; Katrina Chase and husband, Tim, of Homer; Shaunti Johnson of Homer and Tara Johnson of Texas; step-sisters, Selena Kellar of Cambridge, Idaho, Angela Lakey of Emmet, Idaho, and Maryanne Wilkerson and husband, Gordon, of Cambridge, Idaho; grandkids, Jazzmyn and Jesselee Altman, both of Homer; grandparents, Leland and Rosie Hill of Ridgecrest, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
