Paula Setterquist

Paula Setterquist, 58, lost her battle with cancer on the morning of Jan. 6, 2013, in her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Paula was beloved by her family, friends and the community as a whole. Her creativity and character were shown in her many contributions and volunteer services throughout Homer, a town she loved dearly. She was devoted and dedicated in everything she did, and put her heart into enriching the lives of everyone she met.
There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Paula’s life on a warm, sunny day this spring to share laughter and memories. In lieu of flowers her family requests that donations be made to the Homer Lady Mariners’ Softball team.
Webb Gustafson
June 2, 1989-Dec. 30, 2012
Webb Gustafson, 23 — surfer, cyclist, skier, adventurer, comedian, public transit enthusiast, man about town and lover of life — passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012. Born in Kodiak on June 2, 1989, Webb grew up in Berkeley, Calif., and spent many summers in Homer. Throughout his life, Webb shared his passions for foreign language, cheeses, pipes and the world of music with everyone he encountered. He worked as a commercial fisherman with his father and brother on the F/V Vigor and could often be seen wheeling around the Homer Harbor on summer evenings. An avid traveler, Webb visited Europe and Wisconsin, and had the opportunity to see his favorite show, “Dancing with the Stars,” in Los Angeles.
Webb is survived by his father and stepmother, Jarl and Kathleen Gustafson of Homer, and his mother and brother, Aline and Rudy Gustafson of Berkeley, Calif. More information about memorial contributions and Webb’s life can be found at www.webbgustafson.blogspot.com.
