Gary Charles Longhenry

Homer resident Gary Charles Longhenry, 23, died unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in Homer.
A viewing will start at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, with the service and celebration of life to follow, at the Elks Lodge in Homer.
Gary was born Sept. 30, 1989, in Homer. He attended McNeil Canyon Elementary, Homer Middle School and Smokey Bay School.
Gary enjoyed four-wheeling, gaming, snowboarding and being outdoors. He also enjoyed boating, golfing and traveling.
His family wrote, “Gary was full of energy, love and life. He loved nature and all of his friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and could make you laugh on even your worst day. Gary will be missed by everyone who ever met him.”
Gary was preceded in death by his best friend, Sheldon Purcell, and grandparents, Jack Tillman and Ellen Harlock.
He is survived by his mother Ruth Babcock her husband, Brent of Homer; his father, Ray Longhenry and wife, Dianna, of Grinnell, Iowa; sister, Allison Lentz and husband, Jessy of Homer; grandparents, Helen and Jim Willfong of Rockford, Ill.; aunt, Kathy Corp of Homer; uncles, August Tillman of Los Angeles, Calif., John Longhenry and wife, Carol, and Alan Longhenry all of Rockford, Ill., and Roger Longhenry of Oregon; his grandfather, Tom Fisher of Santa Rosa, Calif., and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in remembrance of Gary.
