Dec. 18

Troopers at 11:24 a.m. went to a report of a theft of two propane bottles worth $100 at a Tim Avenue lot in Anchor Point. 

Dec. 19

Troopers at 7:27 a.m. went to a moose-car collision at Mile 122 Sterling Highway near Ninilchik. No one was injured.

Dec. 21

Troopers at 6:50 p.m. went to a moose-car collision at Mile 132 Sterling Highway near Ninilchik. No one was injured.

Dec. 23

Troopers at 12:46 p.m. went to a disturbance at an Anchor Point home. Troopers said a 52-year-old Soldotna woman broke a window at the home of a family member, causing about $300 in damage. The woman also stole a set of keys from a vehicle. Troopers said the woman was on court ordered conditions of release. Troopers issued a warrant for the woman’s arrest.

Troopers at 3:30 p.m. contacted a 23-year-old Anchor Point man at a home near Anchor Pont and arrested him on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

Dec. 24

Troopers at 2:33 a.m. responded with Kachemak Emergency Services EMTs to a report of an unresponsive man at a Homer home. Troopers said a 40-year-old Homer man was found dead. No foul play was suspected. Next of kin was notified and the man’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Dec. 25

The Alaska Bureau of Highway Patrol at 5:50 p.m. went to a three-car crash near Mile 145.5 Sterling Highway. Troopers said a 29-year-old Anchor Point man driving north in a Toyota SUV slid on ice and hit a Toyota pickup truck getting a jump start from a Dodge van operated by a 51-year-old Anchor Point man. A 29-year-old Anchor Point woman standing by the truck was thrown by the collision into the ditch. The crash pinned an 11-year-old girl standing between the truck and the van. The woman had serious injuries and the girl had life threatening injuries. The girl was medevaced to Anchorage. The two men involved had minor injuries. 

Jan. 1

Bureau of Highway Patrol troopers at 3:05 p.m. arrested a 27-year-old Anchor Point man on a warrant after stopping him for speeding at Mile 111 Sterling Highway.
