State Trooper Reports
Alaska State Troopers at 9:52 a.m. received a report from a 53-year-old Nikolaevsk man that while he drove on the North Fork Road in Anchor Point someone shot the back window of his 1990 Toyota 4-Runner with a pellet gun, causing $250 in damages.
Troopers at 2:55 p.m. went to a car crash at the intersection of the North Fork Road and Coleman Lantern Drive in Anchor Point. Troopers said a 50-year-old Anchor Point woman driving east in her 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee on North Fork drove off the road when she tried to put a CD in her stereo and got distracted. The car hit a culvert and stop sign, but the woman did not suffer injuries. Damage was estimated at $6,000.
Troopers at 1:03 a.m. went to a car crash at Mile 164 Sterling Highway in Homer. Troopers said a 40-year-old Anchorage man driving 1993 Ford pickup truck south hit a moose. The man wore his seat belt and did not suffer injuries. The crash caused more than $10,000 in damages to the truck. The moose walked away from the scene.
Troopers at 1 p.m. contacted a 22-year-old Port Graham man at his home and arrested him on a warrant for violating conditions of probation.
Troopers at 1:29 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 39-year-old California driver near Mile 137 Sterling Highway in Ninilchik. Troopers cited the man for driving while license suspended.
Troopers at 3:10 p.m. tried to make a traffic stop on a white Ford F150 pickup truck on the Old Sterling Highway near Silverberry Street in Anchor Point. Troopers said the driver, a 65-year-old Anchor Point man, eluded them for a half mile and drove 20 mph over the speed limit on Silverberry Street before stopping at a home on Original Drive. Troopers said the man drove drunk and on a revoked license and arrested him for driving under the influence, driving while license revoked and eluding a police officer.
Highway Patrol Troopers at 8:20 p.m. stopped a 73-year-old Homer man on the Sterling Highway for not wearing a seatbelt. Troopers arrested him for DUI and cited him for not wearing a seatbelt and having an open container of alcohol.
Troopers at 9:15 p.m. contacted a 58-year-old Kasilof man while doing a security check at the Salmonstock festival in Ninilchik. Troopers arrested the man for second-degree criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.
