July 28

A woman at 8:12 a.m. said a black bear was in her Tundra Rose Road yard and left.

A caller at 9:53 a.m. reported a suspicious vehicle at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center and a person possibly camping in the woods.

A man at 10:40 a.m. reported another mariner in a boat hit his boat at the load and launch area and the person is not calling to discuss paying for damages.

A woman at 1:59 p.m. reported drivers in cars failed to yield to pedestrians on Main Street and Bunnell Avenue.

A man at 2:08 p.m. reported vehicles on the Spit failed to yield for pedestrians.

A caller at 2:56 p.m. reported shoplifters at a Lake Street store. Police issued summonses to a man and a woman for shoplifting.

A woman at 3 p.m. reported someone stole her cell phone.

A woman at 3:34 p.m. reported a 24-year-old man threatened her at a Sabrina Road address. Police arrested the man for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

A man at 4:06 p.m. reported his daughter’s boyfriend took her identification.

A woman at 3:54 p.m. reported a man walked into her camper bus on the Spit and said he was a police officer. Police responded. Police contacted an 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman and arrested them on outstanding warrants.

A caller at 4:47 p.m. reported a woman caught on video shoplifting at a Lake Street store.

A caller at 5:28 p.m. reported a fraudulent attempt to cash a check at a Lake Street business.

A caller at 8:10 p.m. reported a drunk man in the Karen Hornaday Park campground rest room. Police responded and a 53-year-old man was taken to South Peninsula Hospital for medical evaluation and then into protective custody.

A caller at 9:24 p.m. reported items stolen from a campsite at Karen Hornaday park by other campers. Police responded and separated the parties involved.

July 29

A woman at 10:48 a.m. reported her juvenile daughter received text messages from an adult man.

A caller at 11:44 a.m. reported a man took off his clothes and laid down on the ground at a Woodside Avenue address. The man appeared dazed. Police responded and issued the man a trespass notice. He left in a cab.

A caller at 9 a.m. reported a problem with some local utilities at an Easy Street address.

A man at 12:21 p.m. reported a person in a white Toyota pickup truck parked on the beach northwest of Mariner Park for the past two days. An officer was advised.

A woman at 10:13 a.m. reported a bike propped up against the wall at a Ben Walters Lane building for the past two days.

A caller at 4:27 p.m. reported a possibly drunk man acting strangely and pushing a cart on the Spit.

A caller at 7:56 p.m. reported the city would be enforcing 14-day camping rules and posting eviction notices at Karen Hornaday Park.

A caller at 9:10 p.m. reported a driver in a Chevrolet pickup truck spinning doughnuts at a Spit campground. Police later contacted the driver and issued him a warning for driving carelessly.

July 30

A man at 3:32 a.m. reported another man having a verbal altercation with his friend on the Spit. Police took one man into protective custody.

A man at 10:27 a.m. reported medicines stolen.

A man at 11:03 a.m. reported illegal fishing on the Spit.

A woman at 11:28 a.m. reported losing a camera on the Spit.

A caller at 12:52 p.m. reported a woman entered the men’s restroom at a Ben Walters Lane restaurant for extended amounts of time.

A caller at 4:02 p.m. reported a theft from a Lake Street business. Police contacted juvenile suspects.

A caller at 4:53 p.m. reported a camper did not comply with an eviction notice at a site at Karen Hornaday Park. Police responded.

A caller at 7:19 p.m. reported a drunk person stumbling into the road on Fairview Avenue. Police responded and got a 26-year-old man a safe ride home.

A caller at 7:20 p.m. reported a man fell from a tree along the Poopdeck Trail but did not want a medic. Police responded and found the man was OK.

Police at 7:55 p.m. made a traffic stop on a car on Main Street and arrested a 21-year-old man for a driving license violation.

A city employee at 10:11 p.m. asked for police help in evicting a woman from a site at the Karen Hornaday Park campground. Police responded and issued the woman a trespass notice for 14 days.

A caller at 10:20 p.m. reported juveniles drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana at a Ben Walters Lane address.

A hospital employee at 11:25 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man who left the hospital against the advice of his doctor and family. Police took a 38-year-old man into protective custody.

July 31

A man at 7:01 a.m. reporting cornering a pit bull that was killing chickens at an Ocean Drive address.

A caller at 7:02 a.m. reported drug activity at a Mountainview Avenue address.

Police at 7:06 a.m. received a report of a burglary at an Ocean Drive address.

A man at 8:15 a.m. reported fraudulent use of his credit card at an East End Road gas station.

A caller at 10:20 a.m. reported a bike stolen from a Smokey Bay Way address. Police determined the bike was the one reported seen at a Ben Walters Lane address earlier.

A caller at 10:29 a.m. reported a bike was stolen from the top of Ramp 4 at the harbor.

A man at 10:33 a.m. reported a gun stolen from his car.

A man at 11:40 a.m. reported a woman was not returning a car he had given her permission to use.

A caller at 1:30 p.m. reported a stolen wallet.

A caller at 3:55 p.m. made a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a woman driving on Ben Walters Lane. Police contacted the suspect, a 48-year-old woman, and arrested her for driving under the influence and reckless endangerment.

A person at 4:01 p.m. made a 911 call of gunshots fired in the Crestwood Circle area.

Aug. 1

A caller at 6:56 a.m. reported a man passed out in a car on the Spit. Police and medics responded and issued a summons for minor consuming alcohol to a 19-year-old man.

A woman at 11:38 a.m. reported fraudulent charges made on her credit card.

A caller at 2:18 p.m. reported a woman harassing people outside a Spit business.

A caller at 6:10 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle with a person possibly on drugs on the Spit. Police contacted the suspect, a 28-year-old man, and arrested him on two outstanding warrants.

Aug. 2

A caller at 8:34 a.m. reported a man yelling outside a Jenny Way address. Police warned the man for disorderly conduct.

A woman at 4:16 p.m. reported a possible assault at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded.

A caller at 5:10 p.m. reported possible theft of mail on Sitka Rose Circle.

Aug. 3

A caller at 7:54 a.m. asked police to issue a trespass notice to a person camping on the Spit. Police issued the person a notice.

A person at 3:38 p.m. made a 911 call of a fight on Bishop’s Beach. Police responded and separated the parties. Police told the people to camp in designated areas.

A person at 4:24 p.m. made a 911 call of a car crash with injuries on the Sterling Highway. Police and medics responded.

A caller at 7:28 p.m. reported a person buying alcohol for minors.

A person at 8 p.m. dropped off at the police station a backpack found on East End Road near Flex School.

A man at 9:35 p.m. reported a lost puppy that fell out of the back of a moving vehcile on West Hill Road.

A man at 9:47 p.m. reported suspicious cars on Craftsman Road. Police contacted the suspects and said they were juveniles just hanging out and not doing anything criminal.

Aug. 4

A caller at 2 a.m. reported a stolen car from the Spit.
