June 2

A man at 10:55 a.m. reported damage to a fence and mailboxes on Skyline Drive.

Police at 12:43 p.m. and 7:46 p.m. assisted South Peninsula Hospital with safety and evacuation training.

A woman at 3:34 p.m. reported young people bullying people at Bishop’s Beach.

A caller at 3:38 p.m. made a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a driver. Police stopped the suspect, a 59-year-old man, and arrested him for driving under the influence and marijuana possession.

A caller at 9:26 p.m. reported finding a bag with a weapon inside. Police responded and took the bag to the station.

June 3

A caller at 12:47 a.m. reported a generator being run through the night at a Noview Avenue address.

A woman at 10:05 p.m. reported a man passed out in a restroom at Karen Hornaday Park. Police responded. All was OK.

A court employee at 1:30 p.m. asked police to come to the courthouse to serve a domestic violence restraining order. Police responded and served the order.

An Office of Children’s Services employee at 1:38 p.m. reported parents threatening to harm their own children. An officer was advised.

A woman at 2:50 p.m. reported theft of a firearm at an Alder Lane address.

An employee at 3:42 reported a juvenile shoplifter in custody at a Sterling Highway store.

A man at 3:35 p.m. reported a domestic disturbance over money at a Sabrina Road address. Police responded and determined all was OK.

A person at 4:25 p.m. reported a theft from a Greatland Street business. Police responded, but the suspect left before police could arrive. Police later contacted the suspect and issued a summons.

Police at 8:20 p.m. issued a summons to a 23-year-old man for not having insurance.

A man at 8:45 p.m. reported a bicycle stolen from a Skyline Drive address.

Police at 9:52 p.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers with a DUI impound on the Sterling Highway near Diamond Ridge Road.

June 4

A caller at 12:15 a.m. reported people at Jack Gist Park on Adams Drive making noise. Police contacted people playing Frisbee golf and asked them to keep the noise down.

Police at 12:42 a.m. contacted a 10-year-old child out riding a bike past midnight. Police escorted the child home and contacted the parents.

Police at 10:46 a.m. saw an unattended small child at Bishop’s Beach. Police located a parent and returned the child to the parent.

A man at noon reported a chainsaw stolen from a shed on Soundview Avenue.

Police at 2:53 p.m. patrolled the Town Square area off Main Street for people camping in a prohibited area.

A man at 8:48 p.m. reported loud noise at Jack Gist Park on Adams Drive.

A caller at 8:50 p.m. reported young people on the roof of a Pioneer Avenue building. Police responded and contacted the subjects.

A man at 11:11 p.m. reported excessive noise at Jack Gist Park on Adams Drive. Police responded and found all was OK.

June 5

Police at 4:47 a.m. contacted a drunk man sitting by the side of Compass Drive. The man was taken home.

Police at 7:59 a.m. provided an escort for the departing Homer High School softball team.

A woman at 7:59 a.m. reported a pickup truck stolen from the Spit. The registered owner of the truck later reported it was found and had been moved by someone else. The theft was unfounded.

A caller at 8:38 a.m. reported a young child left alone unattended at a Ben Walters Lane home. Police responded and called a parent home to tend for the child.

A man at 10 a.m. reported his bike was stolen from a Soundview Avenue address.

A person at 10:30 a.m. turned in a small urn and a ring found on Bishop’s Beach.

A man at 11:20 a.m. reported beer stolen from an unlocked car the night before at a Bartlett Street address.

An Enstar employee at 11:32 a.m. reported property owners yelling at construction workers in the easement along Sprucewood Drive.

A man at 11:53 a.m. reported drug activity and speeding vehicles on Bishop’s Beach.

A woman at 11:56 a.m. reported her son might be in an altercation with another boy while in a car on East End Road. Police responded and determined all was OK.

A caller at 12:10 p.m. reported a child not properly restrained in a car seat or with a seatbelt in a car on Greatland Street.

Police at 12:10 p.m. arrested a 25-year-old man on an outstanding warrant at Bishop’s Beach.

A Salvation Army worker at 1 p.m. turned in property found in donated items.

A woman at 2 p.m. reported a man followed her into a women’s restroom at a Hazel Avenue address and would not leave.

An employee from the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center at 2:30 p.m. reported campers in a prohibited area near Bunnell Street.

A man at 2:51 p.m. reported a drunk man walking toward Pioneer Avenue and Main Street. Police contacted the man and he got a cab to a hotel.

A man at 4:10 p.m. reported a trailer stolen from an FAA Road address.

A man at 8:42 p.m. reported other people harassing him at his Aspen Court home. Police responded.

A woman at 10 p.m. reported a stolen cell phone.

A woman at 11:12 p.m. reported being concerned for a child’s safety. Police forwarded the information to the Office of Children’s Services.

June 6

A woman at 9:51 a.m. made a REDDI complaint of a driver on the Sterling Highway. Police contacted the driver and found no impairment.

A caller at 10:16 a.m. reported suspicious activity in the East End Road area.

A caller at 11:08 a.m. reported a campfire in a no-camping area at Hazel Avenue and Poopdeck Street.

A caller at 12:19 p.m. reported an unlocked bicycle was stolen from a Cityview Avenue address.

Police at 12:30 p.m. removed campsites in an unauthorized area on Main Street.

A man at 1:15 p.m. reported a trailer stolen from a Fireweed Avenue address.

A woman at 2:28 p.m. reported a dog left in a car on the Spit for a long period of time. Police contacted the animal control officer. The animal control officer found all was OK.

Police at 4 p.m. warned a driver for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle on West Hill Road.

Police at 4:10 p.m. made a traffic stop on a driver on West Hill Road and arrested a 39-year-old man for assault.

A woman at 5 p.m. reported losing keys.

A woman at 6 p.m. reported suspicious activity at an Ocean Drive address.

A woman at 6:18 p.m. reported an unrestrained child in a car on the Spit.

A caller at 6:18 p.m. reported a child left in a car alone on the Sterling Highway. Police contacted the driver, a 38-year-old woman, and advised her she had a revoked license. They also issued her a summons for second-degree criminal trespass.

A woman at 6:25 p.m. reported losing a wallet at a Sterling Highway address.

A woman at 9:36 p.m. reported finding a trailer at a Sterling Highway address.

June 7

A woman at 12:30 a.m. reported suspicious activity.

A man at 2:15 a.m. reported a disturbance on Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 12:21 p.m. reported a gas leak on the Homer Spit. Police responded and assisted firefighters.

A man at 3:28 p.m. turned in a found iPhone. Police contacted the owner who picked up the phone.

A person at 6:28 p.m. made a 911 call requesting a check on a man lying under a sign near Mile 169 Sterling Highway. Police responded.

A caller at 6:50 p.m. reported seeing a smoke plume in the Mountainview Drive area. Police and firefighters responded. Police advised a person to camp in designated areas only.

A person at 8:30 p.m. turned in a cell phone.

June 8

A caller at 1:04 a.m. made a REDDI complaint of a driver in a black 2000 Cadillac on Pioneer Avenue. Police contacted the driver and did not find any impairment.

A caller at 1:14 a.m. made a REDDI complaint of a driver in a black 2000 Cadillac on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded.

A caller at 5:54 a.m. reported people sleeping at a Heath Street business. Police issued trespass notices to the subjects.

A caller at 12:20 p.m. reported suspicious people in a parking lot on Lake Street.

A caller at 1:46 p.m. reported an assault on the Spit. Police responded and arrested a 28-year-old man for assault.

A woman at 3:16 p.m. reported juveniles throwing rocks at the window of a Jenny Way home.

A caller at 8:09 p.m. reported a despressed and drunk family member. A mental health worker was to speak to the caller.
