Oct. 14

A woman at 9:21 a.m. reported a person on a skateboard being towed by a scooter and running a dog on a leash on Soundview Avenue. Police could not locate the suspects.

A man at 11:09 a.m. reported a large porcupine on the side of Main Street and voiced concern that dogs might get into it.

A man at 2:19 p.m. reported a man dancing and falling down in the road on Hazel Street. Police responded and found all was OK.

A man at 3 p.m. reported a theft from a car parked on Pioneer Avenue.

A woman at 3:10 p.m. reported a stereo stolen from her car on Pioneer Avenue.

A man at 3:30 p.m. reported a child shooting a cap gun at a passing car on Pioneer Avenue.

Police at 3:46 p.m. contacted a 21-year-old woman on Main Street and arrested her on an outstanding warrant.

Police at 4:46 p.m. received a report of solicitations in a public bathroom on the Homer Spit.

A woman at 5:30 p.m. reported a person crossing the Sterling Highway dangerously and displaying strange behavior.

Oct. 15

A caller at 6:52 a.m. reported a man sleeping in a Sterling Highway building.

A person at 11:38 a.m. made a 911 call that a car was broken into on the Sterling Highway.

A woman at 12:24 p.m. reported someone hit her car while it was parked at a lot on East End Road.

A caller at 2:10 p.m. reported a coin operated laundry machine was vandalized and damaged at a Fairview Avenue address.

A person at 1 p.m. reported suspected drug activity and cars speeding at Bishop’s Beach.

A caller at 8:50 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle on Spruce View Avenue. Police responded and arrested a 41-year-old woman for driving while license suspended, dealing heroin, and possession of prescription drugs, methamphetamines and marijuana.

Oct. 16

A caller at 5:18 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded and issued the man a trespass notice.

A caller at 9:31 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a suicidal woman.

A school official at 10:42 a.m. reporting finding marijuana in a locker at Homer High School.

A man at 10:52 a.m. made a 911 call of a man found dead at a Soundview Avenue home. Police responded and determined the death was not suspicious.

A caller at 2:07 p.m. reported a man jumped in front of her car on the Sterling Highway.

A man at 2:09 p.m. reported an injured and drunk man on Poopdeck Street.

An official at 2:16 p.m. reported a man acting strangely in the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center parking lot a few hours earlier.

A woman at 6:43 p.m. reported a dog sitter would not return her dog. Police responded to a Bay Vista Place address and issued trespass notices to several people.

A young woman at 7:14 a.m. reported a stolen car.

A caller at 9:07 a.m. reported a break-in at a Pioneer Avenue business.

A man at 11:05 a.m. asked for a police escort regarding a civil matter.

A woman at 2:42 p.m. reported a stolen dog might be in the Homer area.

Police at 3:55 p.m. issued a summons to a 19-year-old man for failure to provide proof of insurance.

Oct. 17

A man at 3:19 p.m. reported a theft from a car parked at a Ben Walters Lane lot.

A person at 8:07 p.m. made a 911 call of drivers in two vehicles parked close together at a Ben Walters Lane business parking lot that seemed suspicious. The drivers left at the request of a manager at the business.

Several people at 8:13 p.m. made 911 calls of a bear in the area on Klondike Avenue. Police notified the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

A man at 8:30 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a juvenile believed to be home alone at a Triton Court home. Police responded and contacted multiple juveniles and informed their parents. Police also contacted the Office of Children’s Services.

Oct. 18

A man at 6:44 a.m. made a 911 call of a car-moose collision with car damage near Mile 169 Sterling Highway.

Police at 9:55 a.m. contacted a suspected shoplifter at a Sterling Highway business. Police arrested a 20-year-old woman for heroin possession and third-degree theft and a 36-year-old man for heroin possession.

A caller at 11:59 a.m. reported a possible domestic-violence assault victim in the lobby of a local hotel. Police responded and determined the call was unfounded. An intoxicated woman was taken to the hospital.

A caller at 12:13 p.m. reported a car crash involving a school bus on Bay Avenue with no students on board.

A store employee at 12:52 p.m. reported a man walked out of the store with a basket of groceries.

A caller at 12:49 p.m. reported a driver spinning gravel and speeding in a Lake Street parking lot. Police issued the driver a trespass notice.

A woman at 4 p.m. reported a broken water main on East End Road. Police notified Public Works.

A woman at 4:47 p.m. reported a stolen phone from a Sterling Highway business.

Police at 11:11 p.m. found a car in the ditch off Rangeview Avenue. They arrested a 58-year-old woman for driving under the influence, drugs.

Oct. 19

A man at 2:20 a.m. asked for information about a prisoner at the Homer Jail. Police found the man had a suspended driver’s license and saw him drive away. Police made a traffic stop and the man fled.

A man at 10:50 a.m. reported a person was beating a dog at an Ocean Drive address. Police responded and warned the man for disorderly conduct.

A woman at 11:54 a.m. reported she is being stalked by a man.

A man at 4:34 p.m. reported finding a bicycle by a Dumpster on Pioneer Avenue.

A woman at 8:16 p.m. reported a stolen dog.

Oct. 20

A man at 2:40 a.m. made a 911 call of a disturbance at the Karen Hornaday Park campground. Police responded and told the subjects to keep the noise down.

A woman at 10:55 a.m. came to the police station regarding ownership of a dog.

A woman at 12:55 p.m. reported a possible injured sea otter at Bishop’s Beach. 

A man at 4:52 p.m. reported a car stuck in the mud on the pedestrian section of Charles Way.

A man at 5:57 p.m. reported theft of property from a yard.

Oct. 21

A person at 6:27 a.m. made a 911 call of a suicidal man.

A woman at 6:36 a.m. reported a theft from a car parked at a Pioneer Avenue lot.
