Aug. 19

A caller at 8:51 p.m. reported juveniles came home drunk and were fighting at an Ocean Drive Loop home.

Aug. 20

A caller at 11:30 a.m. reported a barefoot man kneeling in the gravel at the Catholic Church.

A man at 11:45 a.m. reported almost being hit by a speeding car on Bunnell Avenue.

A caller at 12:57 p.m. reported a man causing a disturbance at a Kachemak Drive restaurant who will not leave. Police responded.

A caller at 2:40 p.m. reported a bicycle stolen from a Pioneer Avenue address.

Police at 4:09 p.m. arrested a 39-year-old man on an outstanding warrant at Fishdock Road.

A caller at 10:59 p.m. reported kittens trying to cross the Sterling Highway. The kittens crossed safely but police could not collect the kittens.

Aug. 21

Police at 8:20 a.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers with a car down a steep embankment near Mile 167 Sterling Highway.

Police at 10:14 a.m. arrested a 35-year-old man on two outstanding felony warrants.

A man at 3:59 p.m. asked for help with his alcohol addiction. Police provided him with information for mental health treatment.

Aug. 22

Several callers at 8:16 a.m. reported horses running down East End Road. Police responded and helped corral the horses.

An employee at 8:52 a.m. reported a woman and two men leaving a Sterling Highway store with shoplifted items.

Police at 11:57 a.m. contacted a 45-year-old man driving on Ocean Drive and arrested him for driving while license revoked. A 44-year-old woman was taken into protective custody.

A caller at 12:14 p.m. reported an injured hawk on Gladys Drive. Police notified the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

A school official at 1:09 p.m. reported a male student with marijuana at Homer High School.

A woman at 2:25 p.m. made a 911 call that her car was hit while stopped at the Lake Street stoplight. The woman was not injured. Police responded.

A man at 2:43 p.m. made a 911 call that four men threatened him with pistols after he approached them in their car on the Sterling Highway and asked them about money he said he was owed.

A person at 11:57 p.m. made a 911 call reporting a wanted person at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and arrested a 19-year-old man on a warrant for first-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Aug. 23

A caller at 8:21 a.m. reported a theft from a Svedlund Street building.

A woman at 1:21 p.m. reported the theft of her purse while shopping at a Sterling Highway store. The purse was later recovered.

A caller at 2:50 p.m. reported a stolen bicycle from a Pioneer Avenue address.

Police at 5 p.m. arrested a 37-year-old man at a Main Street address for failure to appear in court.

A woman at 5:50 p.m. reported internet fraud in the Homer area.

Police at 6:42 p.m. arrested a 33-year-old man on an outstanding warrant at an Ohlson Lane address.

A caller at 6:46 p.m. reported juveniles climbing on the roof of a Pioneer Avenue building. Police contacted the juveniles and their parents and provided transportation for one juvenile to the child’s home.

A man at 8:20 p.m. reported a sea lion trapped in a subsistence fishing net. Police notified the Alaska SeaLife Center.

Police at 11:48 p.m. contacted a 31-year-old woman driving on East End Road and issued her a summons for driving while license suspended.

Aug. 24

A caller at 1:27 a.m. asked police to check on a person sleeping at Bishop’s Beach. Police contacted the person and found all was OK.

A caller at 3:20 p.m. reported a car had been vandalized at an Aspen Lane address.

Several callers at 5:16 p.m. reported a man acting suspiciously and making people feel uncomfortable at a Sterling Highway address. Police asked the man to leave.

Police at 8:24 p.m. issued a summons to a 22-year-old man for sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.

A caller art 11:02 p.m. reported a disturbance at an East End Road address. Police responded and arrested a 44-year-old man for fourth-degree assault.

Aug. 25

Police at 12:12 a.m. contacted a person walking in the Sterling Highway and advised the person to stay on the sidewalk.

A person at 3:30 a.m. made a 911 call of suspicious circumstances on the Spit. Police took a 37-year-old man into protective custody.

Police at 6:37 a.m. took a 48-year-old man into protective custody.

A caller at 4:32 p.m. reported an injured porcupine on the Sterling Highway.

A woman at 4:45 p.m. reported a trapped and injured fledgling eagle on Noview Avenue.

A caller at 7:07 p.m. reported a lost wallet. An hour later a man turned in the lost wallet and it was returned to its owner.

A man at 10:55 p.m. reported gunshots in the Kachemak Drive area. Police responded and contacted people shooting off fireworks.

A man at 11:52 p.m. reported people following him on the Spit. Police responded and took a 37-year-old man into protective custody.

Aug. 26

Police at 3:01 a.m. removed a dead porcupine from the Sterling Highway.
