July 29

A man at 8:40 a.m. reported theft of sporting equipment from Homer High School.

A caller at 9:15 a.m. reported theft of items from an unlocked car on Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 2:25 p.m. reported a stolen wallet and a debit card used.

A caller at 5:10 p.m. reported theft of construction supplies from a Soundview Avenue address.

A woman at 6:15 p.m. said she wanted to end third-party custodianship of a defendant. Police arrested the male defendant for lack of court appointed third-party custodian.

A woman at 8:06 p.m. made a 911 call that she heard a gunshot in the Ben Walters Lane area. Police responded but could not find anything suspicious.

A man at 10:46 p.m. reported juveniles breaking into a garage on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded and said the person in charge of the garage reported nothing missing.

July 30

A woman at 3:25 a.m. made a 911 call asking for a welfare check on a Lake Street neighbor.

A man at 8:45 a.m. reported a boy on his Shirley Court property without permission.

A man at 10:46 a.m. reported theft of firearms from his Iris Court home.

A probation officer at 11:30 a.m. reported information on the theft of a firearm on July 16. Police arrested a 28-year-old woman for second-degree theft, firearm.

A man at noon reported a man missing from a Latham Lane residence who was expected to be there. The caller asked police to do a welfare check. The caller later reported the man was found.

A man at 4 p.m. made a 911 call that a boy hunted ravens with a bow on the Spit.

A caller at 5:56 p.m. reported a man causing a disturbance at a medical clinic for denial of pain medication.

Police at 7:52 p.m. contacted a 26-year-old man driving on Heath Street and arrested him for driving while license revoked.

A man at 8:15 p.m. reported a bike was stolen from a Pioneer Avenue address.

A man at 8:56 p.m. reported drunk people causing a disturbance at a Sterling Highway address. Police responded.

Police at 9:16 p.m. contacted a man sleeping outside a Sterling Highway business and told him to move along.

A caller at 11:58 p.m. reported a man was drunk and distraught at a Clover Lane address. Police responded and arrested a 23-year-old man for fourth-degree assault.

July 31

A caller at 9:42 a.m. reported a man lying in his underwear on the roof of a Rochelle Road home. Police responded and determined the man was sun bathing and all was OK.

Police at 11 a.m. assisted firefighters with a small fire at Bishop’s Beach.

A medical clinic worker at 11:07 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a patient.

A caller at 12:29 p.m. reported a vandalized mailbox on Kachemak Drive.

A woman at 12:34 p.m. reported two men approached her car on Poopdeck Street and asked her disturbing questions.

Police at 12:20 p.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers with two men causing a disturbance at the Safeway parking lot. The men left the area.

A woman at 2:01 p.m. reported an unknown man approached her children while they were on the swings at Ben Walters Park. The man left before police arrived.

A man at 3:10 p.m. reported a person making threats. Police responded and separated the parties. All was OK.

A woman at 4:23 p.m. reported a disturbance at a Little Fireweed Lane address. Police responded and separated the parties.

Police at 3:25 p.m. contacted a person at a Grubstake Avenue address regarding numerous unsubstantiated reports of theft and unlawful entry.

A caller at 5:50 p.m. reported a man passed out along the Poopdeck Trail. Police responded but the man had left the area.

A caller at 7 p.m. reported a man threatened him.

A woman at 9:21 p.m. reported a firearm hanging from a tree on Sprucewood Drive.

A woman at 9:57 p.m. reported drivers drag racing in the Bartlett Street and Sprucewood Avenue area. Police responded but could not find the drivers.

A woman at 10:50 p.m. made a 911 call of a domestic dispute on Mattox Street. Police responded but the incident did not rise to the level of a crime.

A woman at 11:22 p.m. made a 911 call of people outside her Sterling Highway home. Police responded. The caller said she saw a moose in her yard.

Aug. 1

A man at 6:14 a.m. reported finding lost money on the Sterling Highway.

A tribal employee at 12:29 p.m. reported a tribe member left a message threatening suicide and asked police to do a welfare check. Police responded.

Police at 1:09 p.m. issued a summons to a 32-year-old man for driving without an operator’s license.

A caller at 3:19 p.m. reported someone had tampered with business computers.

A man at 5 p.m. reported theft from an Early Spring Street home and fraud.

Aug. 2

A man at 1:56 p.m. reported theft of property from a boat at the harbor.

A caller at 2:10 p.m. reported theft from a Pioneer Avenue business.

A caller at 4:37 p.m. reported people in a white BMW followed him on Bartlett Street and were now parked across the street. Police contacted the BMW occupants and determined the call was unfounded.

A caller at 4:15 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a grandson with medical problems camping somewhere in Homer with his parents.

A caller at 5:19 p.m. reported campers taking up more space than allotted at Mariner Park. Police advised the camp fee collector.

A man at 6:50 p.m. reported theft of property at the Karen Hornaday Park campground.

A caller at 7 p.m. reported an ATV driver on the wrong side of the Spit beach. Police contacted the subjects and advised them of legal riding areas.

A person at 9:59 p.m. made a 911 call of a verbal dispute at a Main Street address. Police responded and issued a trespass notice to a person.

A woman at 9:49 a.m. reported receiving harassing text messages.

Aug. 3

A woman at 1:38 a.m. reported a disturbance at a Bunnell Avenue home. Police responded but could not locate the disturbance.

A caller at 5:51 a.m. reported a man lying down at the harbor boat ramps and asked police to check on  him. All was OK.

A woman at 3:30 p.m. reported a man lying in the roadway with his bicycle on East End Road. Police responded.

A man at 4:09 p.m. turned in an abandoned bike found on Woodside Avenue.

A woman at 7:02 p.m. reported receiving harassing text messages.

A man at 8:21 p.m. reported a theft of wallet and prescription medicine from a hotel. The wallet was later recovered.

A man at 9:06 p.m. reported being stalked on Freight Dock Road. Police responded. All was OK.

A woman at 1:42 a.m. reported a domestic dispute at a Bonanza Avenue address. Police responded and separated the parties.

Aug. 4

A caller at 1:44 a.m. reported a dispute at a Mattox Street address. Police responded and arrested a 35-year-old man for resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

Police at 4:10 a.m. assisted firefighters at an East End Road fire.

A caller at 4:45 p.m. reported an injured sea otter on Bishop’s Beach. Police notified the Alaska SeaLife Center.

A business employee at 5:11 p.m. reported a former customer leaving excessive messages and demanding service after service had been terminated. Police advised the former customer to stop calling the company.

A man at 6:09 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on himself in the morning.

A caller at 11:16 p.m. reported found property at an East End Road address. Police removed the property.
