May 13
A woman at 4:45 p.m. asked police to issue to several people permanent trespass notices from her Early Spring Street home.
A caller at 11:09 p.m. reported a child was left unattended at a Klondike Avenue home.
A person at 11:50 p.m. made a 911 call of a domestic dispute in progress at a Klondike Avenue home. Police responded and arrested a 30-year-old man for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
May 14
A man at 9:19 p.m. reported a car-moose collision on the Sterling Highway.
May 15
Police at 2:41 a.m. contacted a 28-year-old man driving on the Sterling Highway and arrested him for fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, methamphetamines, second-degree weapons misconduct and third-degree weapons misconduct.
A woman at 8:56 a.m. reported a solicitor tried to get credit card information from her.
A man at 12:21 p.m. reported finding a large bucket of tools and a tool belt in the road on Highland Drive near Upland Court. Police found the owner of the lost tools.
A caller at 1:04 p.m. reported a man acting suspiciously by checking doors to buildings on the Sterling Highway. Police provided for transportation for the man.
A woman at 2:21 p.m. reported a hit-and-run crash on Ocean Drive. Police were on the lookout for the car and driver who left and eventually contacted the person.
A man at 4:19 p.m. reported lumber stolen from the Spit.
A caller at 6:24 p.m. reported a man passed out on a trail near Klondike Avenue. EMTs took the man to the hospital.
Police at 8:08 p.m. went to a Bartlett Street medical facility to assist with a drunk person.
A caller at 8:29 p.m. reported two eagles stuck in a tree off Ben Walters Lane. Police notified the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Police at 8:31 p.m. made a traffic stop on a driver on Pioneer Avenue and towed the vehicle for a drug investigation. At 11:19 p.m. police obtained a search warrant and served it on the car.
A caller at 8:44 p.m. made a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a driver at the high school. Police responded but could not find the suspect. At 9:15 p.m. the caller reported seeing the driver again. Police found the driver, a 46-year-old man, and arrested him for drunk driving.
May 16
A man at 2:03 a.m. made a 911 call of a domestic dispute on the Spit. Police responded.
Police at 9:10 a.m. investigated a report of a bomb threat at Homer High School. Police arrested an 18-year-old man.
A woman at 10:25 a.m. reported a dead sea otter on the Spit near Mariner Park. Police advised the Alaska SeaLife Center.
A woman at 11:30 a.m. turned in a necklace found on Fairview Avenue near the Reber Trail.
A woman at 12:20 p.m. reported a possible break-in at a Pennock Street home.
A caller at 4:12 p.m. asked for a welfare check on an agitated woman at an East End Road address. Police responded. The woman had left and police issued her a one-year trespass notice from the facility.
A caller at 10:55 p.m. asked police to issue a trespass notice to a person from a Spit business.
May 17
Alaska State Troopers at 7:03 a.m. asked police to be on the lookout for a suspect in an assault at a Ruth Way address.
A caller at 10:40 a.m. asked police on how to obtain a restraining order against a woman harassing the caller at work.
A caller at 12:20 p.m. reported a man making threatening statements at a Sterling Highway business.
Police at 2:15 p.m. served a restraining order on a person at a Sterling Highway address.
Police at 4:53 p.m. served a restraining order on a person at a Linda Court address.
A man at 7:31 p.m. reported his juvenile son was not at a designated meeting spot. The caller later reported he found his son and all was OK.
A police officer at 10:12 p.m. removed a case of paper towels from the middle of East End Road.
A person at 11:13 p.m. made a 911 call of a driver spinning doughnuts and possibly drunk on Lake Street. Police contacted the driver and determined the driver was not drunk.
May 18
A caller at 3:54 a.m. reported a man trying to enter locked buildings on Jenny Way Police responded and arrested a 66-year-old man for criminal trespass.
A woman at 11:50 a.m. asked police for options regarding a restraining order against a person. She said she didn’t want the person visiting an elderly woman in long term care.
A man at 12:12 p.m. reported his bike stolen from outside his Danview Avenue home.
A man at 2:34 p.m. turned in a found credit card.
May 19
A man at 8:33 a.m. reported a gas can stolen from the back of his pickup truck parked at an Ocean Drive address.
A man at 9:40 a.m. turned in a wallet found on the Spit.
A woman at 12:43 p.m. reported someone went through her unlocked car parked off East End Road.
A man at 1 p.m. reported he could not reach a woman he’d picked up hitchhiking several days ago and who had stayed at his trailer on the Spit. The man returned to Anchorage and now the woman wouldn’t return his phone calls.
A man at 1:31 p.m. reported a person at an Aspen Lane address picked up a pipe in defense against the man. The person then threw the pipe down and walked away.
The manager of a Sterling Highway store at 1:43 p.m. reported a person collecting petitions in front of the store who wouldn’t leave when asked. Police contacted the person and issued a one-year trespass notice.
A man at 4:12 p.m. reported a dead sea otter on the beach near Mile 3 Homer Spit Road. Police notified U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
A caller at 8:22 p.m. reported people drinking alcohol at the Karen Hornaday Park ball field. Police patrolled the area and did not see criminal activity.
Police at 11:58 p.m. issued a summons to a male juvenile for driving without a valid license.
May 20
A caller at 1:15 a.m. reported loud noises and gunfire in the Tulin Bluff Road area. Police responded and determined the call was unfounded.
Police at 3:52 a.m. went to an expected death at home of an 81-year-old man at his Seabreeze Court home.
Police at 4:08 a.m. went to a report of a 2004 Lincoln in the ditch off Bear Creek Drive. Police arrested a 51-year-old man for vehicle theft, driving under the influence and driving while license suspended, revoked or canceled.
