April 8

A man at 1:48 p.m. turned in a pair of prescription eyeglasses found in the Crittenden Drive area.

A caller at 2:55 p.m. reported an assault at a Fairview Avenue address. Police responded.

Police at 7:12 p.m. and 7:16 p.m. warned people for driving in a prohibited area on Bishop’s Beach.

Police at 9:15 p.m. contacted a 54-year-old woman at a Pioneer Avenue address and arrested her on an outstanding warrant.

April 9

A man at 2:49 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a Calhoun Court neighbor. Police responded and found all was OK.

Police at 8:34 a.m. warned a driver for speeding in a school zone near Homer Middle School.

A man at 12:54 p.m. made a 911 call reporting a vehicle in the ditch off East Hill Road but could not find the driver.

A woman at 1:22 p.m. asked police to do extra patrols in the Fairview Avenue area because of theft of gas from cars the night before.

A man at 5:56 p.m. reported an attempted theft. The incident was in the Alaska State Trooper service area and police referred the call to troopers.

Police at 11:21 p.m. contacted a 25-year-old woman driving on the Sterling Highway and issued her a summons for driving without a license.

April 10

A man at 11:10 a.m. reported a theft from an Ocean Drive address.

A man at 11:49 a.m. reported a possible theft from a Fish Dock Road address.

A woman at 7:06 p.m. made a 911 call of suspicious vehicles in the driveway of her Nelson Avenue home. Police responded and determined the vehicles belonged to a survey team.

A man at 7:59 p.m. reported an eagle stuck in a tree and not moving at a Kachemak Drive address. The eagle later freed itself.

April 11

A caller at 12:22 a.m. reported hearing loud music in the Lakeside Court area. Police responded and asked the people to turn down the sound of the music.

A caller at 9:40 a.m. reported a possibly impaired driver who had dropped off a student at Paul Banks Elementary School.

A woman at 10:30 a.m. reported losing a cell phone in the harbor and needed a case number for insurance purposes.

A woman at 11:10 a.m. asked for information on issuing a trespass notice to a man from a Herndon Street address.

A caller at 4:11 p.m. reported suspicious vehicles and possible drug activity in the Lakeside Court area. Police responded.

Police at 11:17 p.m. helped people find housing for the night and provided transportation.

A man at 11:34 p.m. reported fraudulent use of a credit card.

April 12

A caller at 11:10 a.m. reported a theft in the Homer area.

A caller at 3:43 p.m. reported a person driving an ATV in a restricted area of Bishop’s Beach. Police contacted and warned the ATV driver.

A caller at 4:08 p.m. reported people possibly trespassing on private property in the Grubstake Avenue area. Police responded and warned the subjects to leave the area.

A caller at 7:15 p.m. reported a person driving in a restricted area of Bishop’s Beach. Police contacted the driver and advised the driver of regulations and to leave the area.

A person at 9:25 p.m. made a 911 call of a verbal domestic dispute in progress on Early Spring Street. Police responded.

A caller at 9:48 p.m. reported a drunk man at an Ocean Drive business. Police responded and arrested a 51-year-old man for criminal trespass.

April 13

A caller at 4:50 a.m. reported nonpayment of services rendered.

A caller at 10:54 a.m. reported a
person issued a trespass notice from Sterling Highway property was back at the property. Police responded and arrested a 54-year-old man for trespassing.

Police at 10:17 p.m. patrolled the Homer Spit for a school event.

Several callers at 10:58 p.m. reported loud music coming from Bishop’s Beach. Police responded and advised the subjects to keep the noise down.

April 14

A person at 2:33 p.m. reported people in two cars driving recklessly on Ocean Drive. Police responded and issued a summons to a 31-year-old man for driving while license suspended.

Several callers at 10 p.m. reported loud music on the beach below Hidden Way. Police responded and issued a disorderly conduct warning.

A caller at 10:31 p.m. asked for police help with a dispute at a Soundview Avenue home. Police responded and arrested a 23-year-old man on two counts of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

April 15

Police at 3:21 p.m. warned a person for driving in a restricted area of Bishop’s Beach.

A caller at 4:13 p.m. reported a passenger with an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a car on Lake Street.

A caller at 6:30 p.m. reported a person was going to Anchorage to buy methampetamines to sell in Homer. The caller also was worried for a young child’s safety.

A caller at 8:49 p.m. reported a disturbance on Rochelle Road. Police responded and found all was OK.
