Homer Police

April 1

A woman at 4:33 p.m. reported flooding at the Pennock Street and Lakeside Drive intersection. Police notified Public Works.

A man at 5:14 p.m. reported a man driving an all-terrain vehicle up and down Soundview Avenue.

A woman at 8:25 p.m. reported a drunk woman at a Sterling Highway store. Police responded and issued a warning to the woman for driving under the influence.

April 2

A man at 9:45 a.m. reported a single-vehicle rollover with no injuries near Mile 3 East End Road.

A woman at 11:05 a.m. reported a man trespassing on her posted Kachemak Drive property.

A man at 1:30 p.m. reported finding a dead eagle at a Kachemak Drive address. Police notified the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

A caller at 6 p.m. reported a person speeding in a truck through the Homer High School parking lot. Police contacted the driver and warned the person for having bad driving habits.

Police at 6:46 p.m. warned a person of the city ordinance prohibiting vehicles east of the Bishop’s Beach entrance.

A man at 7:31 p.m. made a 911 call of a car crash near Mile 2.5 Kachemak Drive. Police responded but found the driver had left the scene.

A caller at 9:31 p.m. reported a man started a fire in trees on Jenny Way. Police responded and arrested a 66-year-old man on drug charges.

April 3

A man at 9 a.m. reported losing a yellow camera bag with a camera in the Homer area.

A woman at 2:09 p.m. reported theft of medications.

A man at 4:30 p.m. reported theft of clothing from an Ocean Drive business.

A caller at 9:51 p.m. reported a man previously issued a trespass notice was at property on Ben Walters Lane. Police responded and arrested a 33-year-old man.

A man at 9:27 p.m. reported a break-in at a Svedlund Street home. Police responded.

April 4

A woman at 9:29 a.m. reported a man harassing her over a debt.

A caller at 2:24 p.m. reported a car crash and a domestic dispute on Meadow Drive. Police responded.

A woman at 3:57 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man sleeping at Ben Walters Park. Police contacted the man and found he was OK.

A caller at 4:20 p.m. reported possibly drunk people chasing moose in the woods near a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and while in the area contacted a 51-year-old man who they arrested for criminal trespass.

A woman at 4:30 p.m. reported finding drug paraphernalia in her car.

A man at 9:31 p.m. reported a dispute over nonpayment for services rendered. Police responded.

Police at 11:13 p.m. arrested a 54-year-old man at a Sterling Highway address for criminal trespass.

April 5

A security company at 1:44 a.m. reported a break in at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded and arrested a 23-year-old woman for burglary, criminal mischief, theft and resisting arrest.

A woman at 8:15 a.m. turned in a lost dog she found in the East End Road and Kramer Lane area. The dog was taken to animal control.

A woman at 1 p.m. reported fraudulent use of a debit card.

April 6

Police at 1:13 a.m. contacted people in a car on East End Road and warned the driver for DUI and arrested a 42-year-old woman for a probation violation.

A woman at 3:51 a.m. reported a loose dog with no collar at the intersection of West Hill Road and Hillside Place. Police notified the animal control officer.

A caller at 6:55 p.m. reported people driving in the restricted area of Bishop’s Beach.

A caller at 7:03 p.m. reported an assault at a Bartlett Street address. While responding, police contacted a 31-year-old man and arrested him for a probation violation.

A caller at 11:52 p.m. reported a woman refused to pay for a cab fare. Police arrested a 32-year-old woman for theft.

April 7

A woman at 1:01 a.m. reported being assaulted and robbed by a man known to her. The suspect man showed up at the police station.

Troopers

April 2

Alaska State Troopers at 7:59 p.m. went to a fight in progress at a lodge on Skyline Drive. Upon arrival troopers found a 42-year-old man struggling with other tenants at the lodge. Troopers arrested the man for disorderly conduct and took him to the Homer Jail.

April 14

Troopers at 7:59 p.m. contacted a 32-year-old man driving a white Ford pickup truck at the Anchor Point waste transfer site. A records search showed the man had an arrest warrant for weapons and drug misconduct and he was arrested and taken to the Homer Jail.

Troopers at 10:23 p.m. went to a vehicle in the ditch on Mansfield Avenue near Homer. Troopers contacted the driver, a 28-year-old woman, and arrested her for driving under the influence.
