A caller at 8 a.m. reported an unusual smell on Noview Avenue. An officer reported to the scene and was unable to locate the source of the smell.

A caller at 8:14 a.m. reported a possible car-moose crash on the Sterling Highway at Mile 170.5. An officer reported to the scene.

A caller at 11:09 a.m. reported a theft from a Seaplane Court yard.

Callers at 4:16 p.m. reported vehicles running the stop sign at the intersection of Main Street and Pioneer Avenue.

Police at 5:12 p.m. assisted Alaska Fish and Game with a moose with netting stuck in its antlers on the Sterling Highway.

A caller at 5:48 p.m. reported her purse stolen from a W. Fairview Avenue residence after the fact.

Police at 6:34 p.m. arrested a woman on warrant on Crittenden Drive.

Police at 6:29 p.m. warned a driver at Sterling Highway Mile 170 for speeding.

Police at 7:37 p.m. advised Alaska State Troopers to be on the lookout for a vehicle driven by a possibly intoxicated and suicidal man.

A caller at 9:20 p.m. reported third-hand information about a suspicious man at a Main Street building and asked an officer to patrol the area. An officer reported to the scene and found nothing, but continued patrols through the night.

A caller at 10:21 p.m. reported an unoccupied vehicle behind a building on Soundview Avenue and two people running into a wooded area nearby. An officer reported to the scene and arrested an 18-year-old man for consuming alcohol.

Oct. 13

Police at 1:16 a.m. warned a driver for failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Pioneer Avenue and Main Street.

A cab driver at 1:30 a.m. flagged down an officer to report a possible vehicle break-in on Main Street.

A caller at 8:53 a.m. reported a driver passing a school bus while it was stopped with red lights on Main Street.

A caller at 10:25 a.m. reported a theft from an outbuilding on W. Fairview Avenue.

A caller at 9:17 p.m. reported people on the beach cutting wood on a Hidden Way private property. Officers reported to the scene and advised the people not to cut wood on private property.

Oct. 14

A caller at 10:11 a.m. requested an officer to remove a man who had been disallowed from entering a property on the Sterling Highway.

An anonymous 911 caller at 10:47 a.m. reported a vehicle partially blocking the roadway on Ocean Drive. An officer reported to the scene.

A caller at 1:45 p.m. reported an intoxicated man and woman arguing on the Spit Road. An officer reported to the scene and called them a cab.

Police at 3:28 p.m. observed a motor vehicle accident on Heath Street and issued an accident report.

A caller at 7:16 p.m. reported a vehicle speeding and passing unsafely on Kachemak Drive. Officers reported to the scene and issued a citation to the driver.

Police at 11:30 p.m. conducted a traffic stop on Sterling Highway Mile 159. The driver was a man attempting to take his mother to the hospital. The officer provided an escort.

Oct. 15

Police at 12:59 a.m. arrested a man on East End Road for driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a chemical test and driving with a suspended license and no insurance.

A 911 caller at 2:59 a.m. reported a woman yelling at a man on the Spit Road. Officers reported to scene, found no crime and transported the woman to a hotel for the night.

Police at 8:51 a.m. warned a driver for speed on the Sterling Highway.

A caller at 10:31 a.m. reported fraudulent use of an access device on Kachemak Drive.

A caller at 10:53 a.m. reported drug paraphernalia found. An officer advised options.

A man at 10:30 a.m. came to the station to report that he had lent his car to an employee and the employee has not returned. An officer advised options.

A woman at 2:25 p.m. came to the station to report a reckless driver on two different occasions.

Police at 2:38 p.m. assisted with a civil standby on Kachemak Drive.

A caller at 7:03 p.m. reported a pickup speeding on Spit Road. An officer reported to the scene and was unable to locate the vehicle.

Oct. 16

A caller at 5:53 a.m. reported a dog bite on Soundview Avenue.

Police at 6:07 a.m. warned a driver on the Sterling Highway for speeding.

A Sterling Highway business at 12:18 p.m. reported a shoplifter after the fact. An officer reported to the scene.

A caller at 12:40 p.m. reported possible drug activity on Klondike Avenue and requested a patrol.

A caller at 7:58 p.m. reported a domestic dispute and a person making possible suicidal threats on W. Fairview Avenue. Officers reported to the scene and contacted the people present but heard no articulation of self harm.

A caller at 9:44 p.m. made a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately report on the Sterling Highway. An officer contacted the driver and didn’t find any impairment.

Police at 9:56 p.m. warned a driver for failing to stop at the intersection of Pioneer Avenue and Main Street.

An E. Pioneer Avenue business at 12:25 p.m. reported shoplifting after the fact. An officer reported to the scene.

A caller at 4:50 p.m. reported a possible wolf sighting on East Hill Road. Officers advised options.

A caller at 7:06 p.m. on Ocean Drive reported a lost husky/shepherd mix with a collar but no tags.

A Lake Street business at 5:58 p.m. reported shoplifters after the fact.

A caller at 6:25 p.m. reported a man waving a firearm and acting erratically in an East End Road parking lot. Officers reported to the scene and arrested a man for driving with a revoked license.

A caller at 4:08 p.m. reported possible trespassing on Dehel Avenue.

Oct. 19

A caller at 9:10 a.m. requested a welfare check on a woman on East End Road. 

A caller at 11:10 a.m. reported a vehicle parked illegally and with an unsecured trash load on East Fairview Avenue. An officer reported to the scene and issued a parking and littering warning.

A caller at 5:08 p.m. reported an accident on Ben Walters Lane after the fact.

Police at 6:28 p.m. served an animal-related citation on Lakeshore Drive.

A caller at 7:45 p.m. reported an issue with a man in a Greatland Avenue store.

A caller at 8:49 p.m. reported a neighbor on Main Street setting traps in city limits. An officer reported to the scene and notified Animal Control.

Police at 9:17 p.m. arrested a man on an outstanding warrant and for driving without a license on the Sterling Highway.

A 911 caller at 11:24 p.m. reported an intoxicated woman creating a disturbance on Jenny Way. Officers reported to the residence and found no crime.
