Su Valley takes first of eight at Ninilchik Spikefest

Ninilchik was the hot spot for volleyball action with the 2013 Spikefest Tournament. Participating teams were from Birchwood, Cook Inlet Academy, Su Valley varsity and junior varsity, Tok and Unalaska, as well as Ninilchik’s varsity and junior varsity. “It was a great tournament,” said Ninilchik Principal Jeff Ambrosier. “Eight teams played 19 games in two days.”

 The tournament’s first place team was Su Valley, Unalaska was in second and Su Valley took home the sportsmanship trophy. Named to the all-tournament team was Joy Clark of Birchwood, Cynthia Drayton of Unalaska, Emily Hartley of Su Valley, Dana Hogan of Su Valley, Ayla Loper of Su Valley, Erica McGahan of CIA, Nicole Moffis of CIA, Kelsey Olson of  Su Valley, Alexa Peet of Tok, Taytum Robinson of Unalaska, Jessica Rogers of Ninilchik and Lousa Semen of Unalaska.
