The Kachemak Swim Club traveled to Kenai last weekend for the last meet of the season. There were 138 athletes participating in the event, with 36 of them from Homer.
The KSC’s boys team placed first with 222 points; the girls team placed fourth with 98 points. Five teams participated in each division.
Clayton Arndt, in the 11-12-year-old division, led the KSC swimmers in points with 28. Arndt had six first-place finishes. Griffin Downey placed second in the same division with 19 points.
James Nagle placed first in the 15 and over division, with 20 points.
Lucas Story in the 8 and under division and Leo Castellani in the 13-14-year-old division each placed third in individual points.
For the KSC girls, Carley Nelson placed second in individual points for those 8 and under with 15 points. Madison Story placed second in the 9-10-year old division with 19 points. Lauren Kuhns placed third in the 13-14-year-old division with eight points.
Arndt’s individual first-place medals were for the 100-yard IM, the 100-yard freestyle, the 50-yard butterfly and the 50-yard freestyle. Other first-place medals were in the 200-yard freestyle relay with teammates Griffin Downey, Theodore Castellani and Teddy Handley and the 200-yard medley relay with teammates Castellani, Downey and Dexter Lowe.
