The Lady Mariners were in Anchorage last weekend for yet another tournament, placing fourth in the Lady Grizzly Volleyball Tournament at Grace Christian School.
After Friday’s pool play, the Mariners held a 3-7 record, putting them as the fourth seed for Saturday’s double elimination tournament. Homer won two out of the four opponents, giving them a fourth place record. Zoia Basargin was selected for the All Tournament Team representing the Mariners.
“We came out strong against Grace in the first round of the pool play, made very few attacking or serving errors and played great defense,” said Coach Beth Trowbridge. “I feel like we are getting ready to put it all together and feel confident that the girls will play well this coming week when we have three conference matches scheduled.”
Homer lost to Nikiski on Tuesday, and is scheduled to play Houston on Friday and Cordova Saturday.
