Superhero run-walk raises funds

Posted: July 30, 2014 - 3:41pm

The Kenai Peninsula CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, program is staging the Superhero 5-kilometer run-walk in Kenai at 11 a.m. Aug. 16. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Awards are planned for the best costumed heroes.

The course begins at the Kenai park strip and winds through downtown Kenai. Register for the race online at active.com, search for Superhero 5k, or visit the Kenaitze Indian Tribe’s office at 150 N. Willow St. in Kenai for a printed entry form.

The event is sponsored by the Kenaitze Indian Tribe. CASA volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in both tribal and state courts. For more information about the run or the Kenai Peninsula CASA program, contact Joy Petrie at 907-335-7219 or at jpetrie@kenaitze.org.
