Superheroes shine in Kenai 5K run-walk

Posted: July 17, 2013 - 2:05pm

The Kenai Peninsula CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, is staging a Superhero 5K run-walk at the Kenai park strip at 11 a.m. Aug. 3. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Awards are planned for best costumes.

The course begins at the park strip and winds through downtown Kenai. Register for the run online at tinyurl.com/kenai-superhero or visit the Kenaitze Indian Tribe’s office at 150 N. Willow for a printed entry form.

Sponsored by the Kenaitze Indian Tribe, the event is a fundraiser for Kenai Peninsula CASA, whose volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in both tribal and state courts.

For more information about the run or Kenai Peninsula CASA, contact Joy Petrie, 907-335-7219 or jpetrie@kenaitze.org.
