Trick-or-treat loop: sweet deal

The Mountainview-Bayview loop has been a trick-or-treating tradition for more than 30 years and it was a delight to see kids, teens and adults in great costumes, full of spirit, walking with each other, and greeting friends and neighbors throughout the evening.

This year was the third Halloween One-Way that streamlines traffic and a huge thank you is owed to everyone who made it a success. Poppy Benson coordinated volunteers. A big thank you to each of you. The City of Homer graciously lent traffic cones, barricades and safety vests and the Homer Volunteer Fire Department’s member association helped tremendously this year.

I’d especially like to give a shout-out to the residents who show such great community spirit with fabulous decorations and treats. It is really special that kids can grow up walking freely from house to house and participate in a tradition we loved as children. Happy Halloween, until next year!
