Student plans to give back

I would love to thank K-Bay Marine Corps League Detachment 838 (Veterans Pull Tab Store) for the generous scholarship of $500 and their continued support throughout our community and to express my sincere gratitude to them for making the “2015 Scholarship” possible. I was thrilled to learn of my selection for this honor and I am deeply appreciative of their support. I will be leaving for Concordia University to earn a bachelor of science degree in nursing, specializing in pediatrics. By earning this prestigious degree, I plan to participate in the humanitarian field for organizations like Doctors without Borders, the Peace Corps or return home to volunteer for a local nonprofit in Homer. The financial assistance they provided will be of great help to me in paying my educational expenses, and it will allow me to concentrate more of my time for studying.

I want to thank them again for their generosity and support. I promise, I will work very hard and give something back to others, both as a nurse and possibly a scholarship to future students like myself.
