Bike fest helps fund road etiquette

The Homer Cycling Club would like to extend a big fat thank you to all of the participants, volunteers, club members, local businesses and organizations that made this year’s Big Fat Bike Festival a huge success.

Proceeds from the event will match a Homer Foundation grant for an educational campaign called “Homer Shares the Roads.” This endeavor will encourage respectful etiquette and cooperation between pedestrians, motorists and cyclists.

Thanks to Alice’s Champagne Palace, Ashore Water Taxi, The Bagel Shop, Bunnell Streeet Arts Center, Cirque Therapy, Cook Inletkeeper, Cycle Logical, Fat Olives, Far Out Café, Fresh Sourdough Express, Grog Shop, Healing Hands Massage, Homer Bookstore, Homer’s Jeans, Homer Saw and Cycle, Kachemak Nordic Ski Club, K-Bay Coffee, Many Rivers, Nomar, Phil Eherenman, Small Potatoes Lumber, Two Sisters Bakery and the many others that pitched in.
