Pratt appreciates grant

The Pratt Museum wishes to thank the Alaska Community Foundation for a grant to send five core staff members to the Museums Alaska annual conference, “Milestones: Interpreting Events that Change the Course of Communities.”

The conference was in Seward in October, and this grant made it financially and logistically possible for Pratt staff to attend the three-day conference as a team.

This grant was important: The statewide conference helped staff build and maintain networks and relationships with museum professionals across the state, benefit from a wide variety of learning opportunities, and participate in shaping the future of museums in Alaska. Many museums and cultural centers across the state do amazing work and are located in similarly isolated areas. This annual gathering of museum professionals is an important opportunity to share what we all have experienced, and benefit from speakers from other regions and professions.

We greatly appreciate the work the Alaska Community

Foundation does across the state to promote philanthropy and strengthen nonprofit organizations and the work they do in every sector. The Foundation’s vision of Alaskans  supporting Alaskans to create a sustainable quality of life creates a long-lasting investment that will benefit current and future generations. We greatly appreciate their investment in this community.

Thank you to the Alaska Community Foundation from all of us at the Pratt.
