Volunteers make run happen

Our 20th Annual Breast Cancer Run on Aug. 10 was a fabulous success, thanks to the enthusiastic participants and wonderful volunteers who made it happen. The fun 1-mile and 5-mile beach course was set by the Kachemak Bay Running Club’s own Andy Haas, with the fantastic panorama of Kachemak Bay as our back drop. We honored women and families who have been impacted by this disease and hopefully increased breast cancer awareness.

I wish to recognize the other volunteers who helped with this important Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic fundraiser; Heather O’Connor, Susan Kaplan, Melon Purcell, Kim Smith, Megan Palma, Hillary Seger, Bill Noomah, Katie Gavenus, Aleta  Greer, Heidi Stage, Jessie Hiller, Bill Bell, Steve Smith, Lars Bell, Ann Margaret and Bill Wimmerstedt, Kelly Gallios, Shirley Fedora, Donnie, Ginny,  Dana, Nuala, Pablo, Clare, Sara and Marc. Thanks especially to all our community supporters.
