Many contribute to success of event

Posted: June 25, 2014 - 4:38pm

The Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College would like to extend its sincerest appreciation and gratitude to the following individuals, agencies and businesses whose generous grants, donations and in-kind support made the 13th annual Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference possible and such a tremendous success. More than 150 writers, students, teachers, literary enthusiasts and readers from Homer as well as throughout Alaska and the lower 48 spent four days together within a context of shared experiences of workshops, informal conversations, discussions, craft talks, open mics and readings. Participants left with a renewed appreciation and passion for the written word, new friends, new resources and incredible inspiration.

This highly-acclaimed, educational and cultural experience could not have been possible without the assistance and significant contributions from many including: Advance Printing, ACF’s Elizabeth Carroll Fund, Alaska Airlines, Alaska Coastal Marine, Alaska Humanities Forum, Alaska Professional Communicators, Alaska State Council on the Arts, KBC Caroline M. Coons Fund, Barbara Baugh, Bay Excursions, Homer Council on the Arts, Lucy Cutting, Ravn Air, Maury and Agnes Coyle, Alaska Women’s Network, First National Bank Alaska, Friends of the Homer Library, Jana Hayenga, Homer News, Homer Veterinary Clinic, Mary Hughes, Gary Klopfer, Land’s End Resort, Peninsula Clarion, Peter and Jo Michalski, Save-U-More, Peggy Shumaker/Joe Usibelli, The Homer Bookstore, Two Sisters Bakery, Tutka Bay Lodge, Fran Ulmer, University of Alaska BP/Conoco Fund, University of Alaska Anchorage’s Chancellor office and University Relations, UAA’s CWLA department and the Usibelli Foundation. Thank you all.

See you next year — June 12-16.

Carol Swartz, director Kachemak Bay Campus
