The Shorebirds have returned. Homer welcomed their arrival with open arms and a sense of awe. Thanks to the Homer Chamber of Commerce for a well organized welcoming committee. 

Friends of Kachemak Bay State Parks would like to thank Safeway, Kachemak Wholesale, Save-U-More and KBay Caffe’ for their donations of food, and the park hosts and volunteers who helped out with our annual pancake breakfast. A fine feathered event. 

Also a tip of the hat to Rich and Peggy Ellen Kleinledder for guiding  our Friendship Walk on Glacier Spit, and Bay Excursions for bringing the happy birders home. 

Oh yeah, the weather wasn’t so bad, either.
