Homer raises $10,151 to fight cancer
First of all, I would like to put a huge thank you out to Dr. Susan Polis, D.D.S., for her amazing great big donation of $1,150 for my Polar Bear Plunge this year. I also need to thank each and every person who donated even one dollar to my jump.
This year marked my 15th jump into Resurrection Bay in Seward. Over the past 15 years I have raised more than $200,000 for the American Cancer Society. I’m proud to say that I raised $10,151 and received first place in fundraising again. This was my fourth win in as many years.
A few other big names I need to acknowledge are Betty Branson, John Crandall of Cook Inlet Marine, Printworks/Super Software, Homer Veterinary Clinic, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 16, American Legion Post 16. Thank you all again, and I will be knocking on your doors earlier for this next year. I’ve got some stiff competition as my little sister will be joining me.
