PHAT celebrates second year

We, the local peer educators of AK PHAT (Promoting Health Among Teens), have just completed our second year of interactive, peer-led educational classes that give teens knowledge and skills to make healthy choices. In these classes we do role-plays and other fun interactive activities to teach an evidence-based curriculum that covers issues like safer sex, abstinence, healthy relationships and peer pressure. A big thanks to more than 80 young people who have completed the AK PHAT curriculum so far. Keep an eye out for more upcoming PHAT classes that are being planned for the 2013-2014 year in and around Homer. If you are a teen age 14-19 years old and would like to learn more about participating and earning some sweet incentives, we encourage you to contact the R.E.C. Room for more information (235-6736 or recroom@kbfpc.org) and come visit us at our booth at Concert on the Lawn on July 27 and 28.
