How many ways can you count up to 100?
That was the question Chapman students in pre-k through first grade explored last week as the 2013-2014 school year reached its 100th day.
Paired with older students, the youngsters tested their physical strength by seeing how many push-ups, sit-ups, toe-touches and jumping jacks they could do in 100 seconds, how many times they could bounce a ball or how many baskets they could shoot. There was a mini Frisbee golf course set up to test their throwing accuracy during a 100-second time period. There were maps with 100 countries in need of names, boxes of 100 parts to be assembled and a bulletin board needing suggestions of 100 nice things to say to others. Topping it off: eyeglasses in the shape of “100” through which to eye all the fun.
