Police investigating theft of firearms from local home

A Homer resident called 911 to report that someone had broken into her home on Saturday, May 14 at 6:48 a.m. Homer Police responded and found that someone had entered the residence and taken several items from the home, including firearms. The firearms taken were described to police by the victim as two rifles and two handguns.   

The victim told police she heard a noise downstairs and thought it was her husband returning from fishing. However, when she called out to her husband, she heard what sounded like someone leaving the residence in a hurry. The victim found that someone had entered the residence through an unlocked door.
