Man arrested for terroristic threats

Alaska State Troopers last week arrested a Voznesenka man after they said he threatened to first kill a 17-year-old boy and burn down his house and then threatened to kill three men and burn down their house. Joseph Kuzmin, 40, faces charges of second-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree burglary, both felonies, and four counts of fourth-degree assault. According to a criminal complaint filed by Alaska State Trooper Luke Kumfer, about 7:15 p.m. Feb. 8 a man called troopers to report that Kuzmin had called his son, age 17, and threatened to kill the boy and burn down his house. The boy fled to his uncle’s home. Kumfer responded, and while looking for Kuzmin in Voznesenka, got a call saying Kuzmin had gone uninvited into a house under construction and became verbally abusive to men working there. When the men told him to leave, Kuzmin threatened them, Kumfer wrote.
