A rocket mass heater workshop will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Canyon Arts School of Natural Building, Mile 7 East End Road. 

The hands-on workshop will teach participants the theory and how to build a rocket mass heater, an affordable, efficient, wood-fired masonry heater constructed of mostly local materials. 

For a limited number of individuals, there also will be a part-two follow-up weekend about constructing the combustion unit. 

The class includes the book, lunch and beverages. Cost is $250 for part one and $150 for part two, with a sliding scale available.
