School board approves superintendent contract

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Board of Education unanimously approved Sean Dusek’s three-year superintendent of schools contract Monday evening.

The contract includes a $140,000 starting salary for the first year, which includes 260 work days, and will increase in steps.

Dusek will have the same health care coverage as school district principals, according to the contract. The contract is available on the school district’s website, www.kpbsd.k12.ak.us, and covers benefits including vacation time and sick leave, travel expenses and contract termination.

The contract will begin July, 1, 2015.
