Ravn Alaska honored as a top 49er company

ANCHORAGE – Ravn Alaska, Alaska’s largest regional airline, took 22nd place in the 2014 Alaska Business Monthly Top 49ers awards, rising two spots from 24th place in 2013.

“Ravn is proud to be an Alaskan-owned and-operated company. With historical roots dating back to statehood, our mission is to connect Alaskans with the people and places they care about,” said Charlotte Sieggreen, Ravn Alaska marketing manager. “We’re Alaskan through and through, and we’re honored to be included among Alaska’s top companies.”

Alaska Business Monthly selects the Top 49er businesses through a short survey covering total gross revenue, employees, business activities, subsidiaries and recent notable events in the last year. To qualify, businesses must have at least 51 percent Alaska ownership and be headquartered within the state. In 2013, Ravn Alaska grossed $160 million, up $10 million from the year before.

“At Ravn, we’re consistently working to make flying within Alaska a wonderful experience. From exceptional customer service to improved efficiency and effectiveness, Ravn Alaska strives to be the best carrier in the last frontier,” said Steve Smith, Ravn Alaska director of sales and marketing. “We thank our customers and employees for making this last year a tremendous success.”

Ravn Alaska is the largest regional airline based in the state, offering daily passenger and cargo services to nearly 100 communities across Alaska, including Homer.
