Businesses make moves, still on Pioneer Avenue

Re/Max of Homer recently settled into its new renovated location on the street facing side of the Windjammer Suites building on Pioneer Avenue. Their old location, also on Pioneer Avenue, is now occupied by Malone Insurance Agency, which moved from a neighboring building in July.
In an interview last week, owner and broker of the Re/Max real estate franchise, Terry Yager, referred to the move as “downsizing” to a smaller space. He estimated the renovation to be 90 percent done, with mostly cosmetic touches, like adding window blinds, needing to be completed.
Yager and his wife, Jonnie, bought the Re/Max franchise in 2000, and have owned Homer Property Management since 2009. Both businesses share the new office.
The Yagers’ combined employee team includes Shelly Stradling, Marjolein Cardon, Daniel Yager and Michelle Simpson.
Malone Insurance, an independent insurance agency, is owned by Randy and Nancy Boeshart, who purchased their new building in June.
When asked about the reasons for moving, Randy said the company needed space for future growth.
“We wanted to accommodate customer parking and it’s an overall nicer place,” he said. “We want to thank everyone in Homer; it’s a privilege to serve them.”
Malone Insurance originally expanded to Homer from its office in Bethel in August 2012. The company’s Homer employee team includes Lisa Rich, Carol Whitaker and Melissa Pellegrom.
The Boesharts will rent out the two-bedroom apartment in the upper level of their new building.
