ANCHORAGE (AP) — The Anchorage Assembly has set a vote on a city labor law for November.

The vote will determine whether a law will remain in place that limits municipal employees’ right to strike. The law also limits raises to the rate of inflation plus 1 percent and eliminates binding arbitration.

The referendum vote to repeal could have been held in April but assembly members Tuesday voted 6-5 to delay it for seven months.

KSKA-radio (http://bit.ly/1cv3GBl) reports the assembly originally scheduled the vote for April. That action was vetoed by Mayor Dan Sullivan.

Law critics say the delay in the vote was a tactic to slow down momentum for the repeal. Supporters of the law say a vote in November will produce a larger voter turnout.
