Homer News to host Business After Hours event

As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, the Homer News will host this week’s Homer Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event.

The party will be from 5-7 p.m. today at VBS Specialty Stoves, located at Pioneer Avenue and Bartlett Street. Additional parking will be at the Pratt Museum.

The event will feature music by Johnny B., snacks and door prizes. It’s
also a chance to meet the Homer News staff.

The public is invited.

Although there were earlier newspapers called the Homer News, they did not have long lives. The Homer News that was first printed Jan. 7, 1964, was founded by Hal and Marion Thorn.
